Visitors become enveloped by an empty void.
Cowboys Dance on neighboring rooftops with glowing lassos.
No More Shimmering Cowboys is a science fiction guided tour of a landscape that once was in an exploration of NYC’s High Line from a seemingly alien perspective. Leading a journey through the park, the tour guide muses on the strangeness of a past civilization eons after its inevitable ruin. Glowing cowboys dance on neighboring rooftops, others wrestle with 100 feet of wet fabric like an oil spill—eventually visitors are enveloped by a dark void of empty promises. In No More Shimmering Cowboys, the High Line becomes a theme park, parading the wild and tragic myth that was masculinity and the American Dream in this absurd and apocalyptic adventure for visitors of all ages.
