Part poem, part picture book nightmare, this unique rendition of Igor Stravinskyʼs theatrical work, Histoire du Soldat, is a darker look into the deteriorating mind of the soldier. A breathing, mutating chair narrates the tale, while an 80 ft piece of fabric shape-shifts from vibrating architectures to savage nature. Combined with original posters and illustrations by artist Ryan Hartley, interactive video projections, dancers, puppet shows, pythons, theater, and a live chamber orchestra, the work is a salute to the makeshift, absurd, tapestry that was life during wartime Russia.
